Clipping CPM explained: what campaigns really pay

Updated Oct 16, 2026

CPM (cost per mille) is what a clipping campaign pays per 1,000 views. At a $2.00 CPM, a clip with 50,000 eligible views earns $100, before any platform fee, and only while budget remains.

Typical rates

  • Across 555 live clipping campaigns on 16 Oct 2026, the median CPM was $1.10, and half paid between $1 and $2.[source]
  • On Whop's Content Rewards (708 campaigns, 14 Oct 2026), the median was $1.05; 30% paid $2 or more and 12% paid $3 or more.[source]
  • Among the 13 live campaigns ClipScout Daily tracks today, the median CPM is $1.75 (our own data, Promote.fun listings).

Advertised vs real CPM

On 330 Content Rewards campaigns, budget spent per 1,000 tracked views had a median of $0.89 against a $1.00 median advertised rate (about 81%).[source]

Fees

Platform fees reduce what you take home: Content Rewards takes 10% of CPM pay, Clipster 5% and Clipstake none, per ClippingAlpha.[source] Effective CPM = CPM × (1 − fee).

How ClipScout Daily ranks campaigns

Score = effective CPM × runway factor (days of budget left at the current spend rate, capped at 7, divided by 7) × log10(1 + budget left in $) × per-clip cap factor (cap ÷ $100, max 1). A high CPM with a nearly empty or fast-draining budget ranks lower than a slightly lower CPM with plenty of runway. When a board doesn't publish its fee we treat it as 0% and mark it "unknown".
